Pillow Talk: Mother's Day Guide Autoimmune Edition

Pillow Talk: Mother's Day Guide Autoimmune Edition

A very special list for moms, women and those with invisible illnesses.

This Mother’s Day is bound to be an unforgettable one. The lists have started to filter into our Instagram feeds. I have yet to see anything tailored to people with autoimmune disease. So I figured I would change that and create a curated list just for us. Honestly, everything on here is something I either have or want (one day!) or really something any person would love, illness or not.

I’ve learned a lot through this journey of motherhood and autoimmune disease. Clean air, clean water, organic whole foods, nontoxic skin products, the list goes on. The common thread through everything? Take care of ourselves first. Yup, I said it. So even if your partner can’t get a hint, here’s a shortlist of goodies you can pass along or just get yourself. After all, a happy you is a happy home!

  1. Farmhouse Pottery bowl set is gorgeous, timeless and locally made in Vermont. I was gifted a set as a wedding gift and it has to be one of the most special things in my cabinet. I would love this mixing bowl as a set, who wouldn’t?

  2. Jade Rollers are trendy I must say. But they do the trick, especially when we can’t access

  3. Bedtime Bath Salts are part of my nighttime routine. I never took baths before I was diagnosed with UC and now have a new found love for bath time! And let me tell you, no bath is complete without salts.

  4. Ultimate robe is lush, luxurious, and a total splurge I know. My mom has one and has been raving about it. I would say this is her Mother’s Day pick for you. What I love about this is the weight … it’s not too heavy and bulky, but not too thin. Also, we love the button clasp at the top of the robe. I think this might be in my future “hospital bag.”

  5. Framebridge “Pick Your Own Frame” is a really unique gift. Also a good one for those who are last minute. This is a way to involve mom in picking out her gift by choosing her own frame. You can choose the photo to go inside. Framebridge has great quality products.

  6. 4-in-1 Air Purifier is something else I have been eyeing for awhile. The longer we are staying home the more I care about the air inside the house as well as outside. I already use an essential oil diffuser to help clean the air we are breathing in the kitchen. I love the effectiveness of this purifier and just how quickly you may see some of your symptoms subside with this nifty treat.

  7. At home facial kit with Josh Rosebrook toner and hydrating mask is AHmazing. 100% non toxic, all natural. I love all Josh Rosebrook products, especially the toner. It’s irresistible. I bring it with me everywhere, especially in the hot summer months or when I am traveling (like that will be any time soon:-/ ?) You will not go wrong giving a little spa day to your loved one, because these products pack BIG results and immense joy.

  8. Cuisinart food processor is a must for those who love to be in the kitchen. There are some things my Vitamix just can’t do effortlessly. Like pestos, spreads, dips, salsas, etc. These come in different sizes … the smaller one is better for a small family and a larger one is necessary if you’re making tons!

  9. The Initial necklace from Maya Brenner is such a sweet and heartfelt gift that can grow as your family dose. This is a custom order so it may arrive after Mother’s Day. That’s ok … as I hope to celebrate once we are able to be in small groups again!

  10. Berkey Travel Water Filter is the only water filter of it’s kind really. This is a travel kit, so smaller than the original size (which I prefer) and also comes with several filters and a water bottle I use every day. This is the best because you can have clean water with you anywhere you go!

  11. Travel tote (now 40% off!) is a perfectly sized cross body and has a zipper (which I love!). A bag like this is truly necessary for all moms or anyone with an autoimmune disease because we carry ALL the things. At a moments notice you’ll never know when you will need wipes, a spare pair of undies, or a snack!

  12. Coziest comfy set, sweatshirt and sweatpants (now extra 40% off!) and I just bought my second and third pair. Trust me when I say, these may be the softest, fairest priced sweats you can buy. And I know comfy. Like a professional at determining what will be comfortable around the waist and lounging. It’s my specialty!

Well, I hope you found something special in this list. There is definitely something on here for you or for that woman in your life, especially one who can use some extra love on this day.

Lovingly,

TLBS
